What’s new

Version 1.7.1

Things people wrote in about, and what happened to them. Newest first.

  1. 1.7.1

Your minutes show as soon as you have paid

    How the app works

    • After paying, you sometimes came back to "No minutes yet" and had to paste the code from your email. Now your minutes show at once, on the browser you paid with.
    • Closed the tab before it came back? The next time you open the site on that browser, your minutes are there. The code is in your email too.
    • If you already had a code, the new minutes go onto it, so they stay in one place.
    • Somebody who opens your payment link on another phone or computer gets nothing. The minutes stay yours.
  2. 1.7.0

A short film on the front page

    How the app works

    • The front page has a 40-second film: pick who she is and where you are, talk to her out loud, then go and say hello to somebody real.
    • It is the real app and a real conversation with Ingrid, who is AI-generated. His voice is AI too.
    • It only plays when you press play, with sound, and the words are always on screen.
  3. 1.6.0

Lost your code? Get it back by email

    How the app works

    • Lost your code and the email it came in? Open "Have a code?" under Minutes, tap "Lost your code?" and type the email you paid with. We email you every code bought with it, and the minutes left on each.
    • Your minutes stay exactly where they are: we only send the codes again, and nothing changes until you paste one in.
    • The page gives the same answer whoever types an email, so nobody can use it to find out who has bought minutes. One inbox gets at most three of these mails an hour.
    • A payment that went through but never turned into minutes is now turned into them when you ask, and the code comes in the same mail.
    • The code box now just says "Have a code?", because a code from your receipt goes in the same place as a free pass.
  4. 1.5.1

    The welcome steps show once

    How the app works

    • The four welcome steps now show only on your first visit. Come back later, reload or open a new tab, and you go straight to the page.
    • Want to read them again? Press "How it works" at the bottom of any page.
    • In a private window, or if your browser does not keep site data, you still see them each visit.
  5. 1.5.0

Three women, each with her own face

    How she behaves

    • MarteMarte has a face of her own now: long dark hair, round gold glasses and a lilac cardigan.
    • VildeSofieTheaEliseNoraHanneTuvaVilde, Sofie, Thea, Elise, Nora, Hanne and Tuva are taking a break until they get faces of their own.

    How the app works

    • You can now meet Ingrid, Kaja and Marte. Each has a face made just for her, and each stands in front of the place you picked.
    • "Surprise me" picks one of the three.
  6. 1.4.1

    You can hear her again

    How the app works

    • You can hear her again. Since she started standing in the place you picked, her voice was silent on the call; it is back, in time with her lips.
  7. 1.4.0

    A new name: State Shifting

    How the app works

    • Cold Open is now called State Shifting: a dry run with an AI face, before the real thing. Your minutes, your code and the web address stay the same.
    • The top of the front page now says plainly that every woman here is AI, and that this is practice, not a dating app.
    • The footer, About, Terms and Privacy now say who makes it: State Shifting, by 5000 approaches.
    • A link you share now shows the new name and the dry-run line in its preview, and the emails you get carry the new name too.
  8. 1.3.0

She stands in the place you picked

    How she behaves

    • IngridKajaIngrid and Kaja have new faces, made just for them. The other eight keep the faces they had for now.

    How the app works

    • Ingrid and Kaja now stand right in front of the place you picked: the café, the shop or the gym is behind her while you talk, not a room somewhere else.
    • If your phone or browser cannot draw that, she stands in front of the evening sky instead. You never see a green screen.
    • There is no separate step for how she looks any more. Pick who she is, and her face appears beside her description.
  9. 1.2.0

A new look, and a nudge to go and do it for real

    How the app works

    • The whole site has a new look: a painted sunset at the top, darker by default, and a soft lavender version if your phone is set to light.
    • Choosing who she is, how she looks and where you are is now three short steps on one screen, and the button to start sits at the bottom where your thumb is.
    • The café, the shop and the gym have new pictures, and the place you pick is the place you see behind her while you talk.
    • A short silent clip plays once at the top of the front page, then stays still. It never plays if your device asks for less movement, and never during a conversation.
    • When a conversation ends, the first thing you see is to go and try it for real today.
    • The price a minute now matches what you can actually buy: from 3,49 kr a minute.
    • The page now says there are ten women to talk to, which is how many there are.
  10. 1.1.0

She keeps her word, and the site can be found

    How she behaves

    • EveryoneShe no longer offers you her number and then withdraws it a sentence later. She decides before she speaks, and once she has decided she stays decided — including when the answer is no.
    • EveryoneAsking a second time after a no is no longer a second chance. The no holds.

    How the app works

    • Buying now works even if you close the tab on the way back from paying — the payment is honoured either way, and the code is emailed to you.
    • Every page says where it actually lives, so search engines and AI assistants stop seeing two different sites and can index this one properly.
    • There is a readable part of the site now: what this is, how it works, and the questions people ask before they will press anything.
    • Added About, Privacy and Terms pages, and a support link that fills in the subject for you.
    • This page: releases now carry a version number, and changes are split into what the software does and what the women do.
  11. 1.0.0

Minutes you own, and four screens that say what this is

    How she behaves

    • SofieTuvaSofie was labelled "Playful" and was not playful, she was sharp. She is now called what she is, and a genuinely playful woman was written from scratch.
    • KajaKaja was labelled "Lovely" and ended conversations coldly. She now lets people in the way the label promises.

    How the app works

    • Minutes are yours: buy a pack and the page shows how much time is left, down to the second, and only charges you for what you actually talked through.
    • Prices can be read in kroner or dollars, and you can pay in either.
    • Arriving now walks you through four short screens explaining that she sees you, hears you and answers as you speak. Too many people were waiting for a video to start.
    • A conversation you never closed no longer keeps you out of your own minutes.
  12. 0.9.0

Endings that sound like a person

    How she behaves

    • EveryoneA woman turning you down no longer explains that her life is full enough already. A no is short, and it is not a scoreboard.
    • EveryoneOrdinary Norwegian no longer ends the conversation by accident — saying "ha det gøy" mid-sentence was being read as goodbye.

    How the app works

    • The transcript now carries the time each line was said, sits on a proper background, and can be copied or downloaded in one press.
    • You are no longer told you hit the five-minute limit when you ended the conversation yourself.
    • When her picture drops but she can still hear you, the page says so across her face instead of leaving you looking at a frozen photograph.

Something still wrong? The box under a finished conversation reaches us, and so does support@5000approaches.io.
